Tasked by the client to create a retail space on Manhattan's Upper East Side for a variety of teas, honeys and assorted accoutrements, ORE designed a system for storage and display that would not only provide needed storage and display space, but would also effectively brand the store. Our solution was a series of custom-designed shelving units, which become the focal point of the space. Built with a honey comb motif, the wall is composed of tessellated hexagonal cells. The frames of the individual cells are made from pine salvaged from construction scaffolding, with aluminum shelves. These store and display the merchandise, and some of them have LED's concealed in the perimeter, illuminating the honey jars. ORE supervised installation, including the shelves opposite the honey comb, also custom-designed by ORE and built from salvaged plywood.
